On my journey to fitness, I have come across many people who subscribe to the popular misinterpretation
that skipping meals will help you lose weight. Not so, I'm afraid. Just as a car needs to to start up in the morning to take you on your way, your body also needs that fuel to get you going and keep you going through the day, otherwise your body's engine will be sluggish or perhaps not want to start at all. In fact, skipping meals has been determined not only to NOT aid in weight loss but is actually a deterrent in weight loss. If your body doesn't receive the food/fuel that it needs it automatically goes into what we refer to as "starvation mode". Thinking that it's not gonna get food anytime soon, it will begin to store up fat cells to make up for the deficit that it should have received. If you're one of those people who just don't do breakfast, you can certainly supplement your daily food intake with a healthy smoothie or shake, which is not as filling as an actual meal and doesn't take quite as long to prepare, as I know from experience, that time is of the essence when we're trying to get ready each day. Three healthy meals would be ideal or even 5-6 mini-meals throughout the day, to keep your body's energy level and metabolism sustained at a rate so that it will burn fat adequately. If you're trying to lose weight, remember that the key is to fuel your body so that it will be able to have the energy to burn fat instead of storing it. So bon appetit'!!!!! :) (Keep it healthy!!!)
